The side effects sometimes seen after Synvisc-One include (<2% each): pain, swelling, heat, redness, and/or fluid build-up in or around the knee. Loss of disc height can be caused due to osteoporosis, spondylosis, vertebral compression fracture and degeneration of disc. Loss of disc height can cause the occurrence of nerve impingement, bone and joint inflammation as well as resultant pain.
As people age loss of disc height occurs and they are likely to lose height and become rigid. Talk to your doctor before resuming strenuous weight-bearing activities after treatment.
